Effective: May 2026  ·  Last updated: May 2026  ·  Contact: hello@quipster.net

In plain English

Quipster is an AI assistant you reach by text message. You agree to use it for normal things, not to break the law, harass anyone, or try to break the service.

It's $3.99 a month after the free tier, you can cancel anytime, and the AI sometimes gets things wrong — don't rely on it for medical, legal, or financial decisions. The full legal version is below.

01 The service

Quipster ("we," "us," or "our") offers an AI assistant accessible by SMS and MMS text message. By texting our number, opting in through a signup form at quipster.net, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms").

The service is operated by Mark Yowan, a sole proprietor doing business as Quipster. Contact: hello@quipster.net.

02 Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old to use Quipster. By using the service, you represent that you are 18 or older, that you have the authority to enter into these Terms, and that your use will comply with all applicable laws.

Quipster is intended for users in the United States. We may decline service to users outside the US or in jurisdictions where the service would be unlawful.

03 Account and opt-in

You begin using Quipster in one of two ways:

You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any Quipster message. See our SMS Consent & Opt-In Policy for full details on consent, opt-out, and HELP behavior.

04 Pricing and billing

Quipster offers a free tier (currently 10 messages per day) and a paid subscription at $3.99 USD per month for unlimited use. Both tiers are subject to fair-use limits to prevent abuse.

Subscriptions are billed monthly and recur until cancelled. Payment is processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details directly. By subscribing, you authorize us (through Stripe) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Pricing may change. We will give you reasonable notice (at least 30 days) before any price change takes effect, and you may cancel before the change takes effect if you don't agree.

05 Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time. To cancel:

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain access to paid features until then. We do not generally offer refunds for partial months, but we'll consider reasonable refund requests in good faith — email us.

Texting STOP opts you out of all SMS messages but does not by itself cancel a paid subscription. To cancel billing, contact us as described above.

06 Acceptable use

You agree not to use Quipster to:

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these rules. Repeated abuse will also be reported to the relevant carrier and may result in your number being blocked at the carrier level.

07 AI limitations

Quipster's replies are generated by a third-party large language model (currently Anthropic's Claude). The AI is not always accurate. It can make mistakes, invent facts, miss context, and produce outdated information.

Do not rely on Quipster for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or other consequential decisions. Always verify important information with a qualified professional or authoritative source.

You are responsible for evaluating the accuracy and suitability of any output for your purposes. We make no guarantees about correctness, completeness, or fitness for any particular use.

08 Message and data rates

Standard SMS/MMS message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply to every message sent or received. Quipster does not charge per message beyond your subscription fee, but your carrier may. Check your plan with your carrier if you're unsure.

Message frequency depends on how often you choose to text us. For users on the conversational tier, frequency is variable and driven by you. For waitlist or launch notifications, frequency is 1–3 messages total. See quipster.net/consent for details.

09 Intellectual property

The Quipster name, logo, website, and the underlying software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, redistribute, or create derivative works from them without our written permission.

You retain ownership of the content you send to us (your messages). By sending messages to Quipster, you grant us a limited license to process them in order to generate replies, store conversation context, and operate the service. We do not claim ownership of your content and do not use it to train AI models.

10 Termination

You may stop using Quipster at any time — text STOP, cancel your subscription, or simply stop messaging us.

We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms, abuse the service, or for other legitimate operational reasons (e.g., extended inactivity, a carrier compliance issue, or a court order). If we terminate without cause, we'll refund any prepaid period.

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will survive.

11 Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against all attacks, or available in all locations or at all times. SMS delivery depends on third-party carriers we do not control.

12 Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quipster and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Our total cumulative liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, the limitations above apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

13 Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or SMS before the changes take effect. The "Effective" date at the top of this page indicates the current version.

Continued use of Quipster after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you don't agree, you can cancel your subscription and stop using the service.

14 Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us at hello@quipster.net and attempt to resolve the dispute in good faith for at least 30 days.
